The two very odd shaped things on the side of our heads are incredible things, able to interpret sound waves ranging from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. Admittedly, that’s not quite as impressive as a cat that can detect frequencies ranging from 45Hz to 85,000Hz, or indeed dolphins that can detect up to 200,000Hz!
As we get older our hearing deteriorates and higher frequencies become harder to detect. Below is a fun test to see how “old” your ears are!
